Guide / 01
Installing Omamesh
Two steps: the app from the latest release on GitHub, then the 3D engine, which Omamesh sets up for you.
Where it is
A terminal · github.com/28allday/omamesh
What you can do
- Follow the install steps on GitHub (github.com/28allday/omamesh#install). They always match the latest release.
- You need an NVIDIA card with 16 GB of video memory, or an AMD Radeon RX 7000 or 9000 with 16 GB; 24 GB of memory or more; and about 45 GB free in your home folder.
- After the app, run omamesh-setup in a terminal, as yourself (no sudo). It sets up the engine in ~/.local/share/omamesh/engine: its own Python, GPU toolkit and compiler, TRELLIS.2 and the model. It takes 30 to 60 minutes, mostly downloading.
- One step needs you: TRELLIS.2 reads photos with Meta's DINOv3, which is free but gated on Hugging Face. Setup walks you through making an account, accepting the licence and pasting a Read token.
- If setup stops, run it again: it carries on where it left off. After an update it only redoes what changed.
- Then open Omamesh from the app launcher: Super + Space, and type Omamesh.

Install it
The install steps and the latest release are on GitHub, and they're kept up to date with every release.
What it needs
| Graphics card | NVIDIA with 16 GB of video memory and driver 570 or newer, or an AMD Radeon RX 7000 or 9000 with 16 GB. |
| Memory | 24 GB or more; 32 GB is comfortable. |
| Disk | About 45 GB free in your home folder. |
| System | Omarchy, or another Arch Linux desktop. |
Intel graphics aren't supported: nobody has ported TRELLIS.2's GPU parts to them yet.
Non-commercial use
TRELLIS.2 bakes textures with NVIDIA software whose licence allows research and evaluation only, so as set up Omamesh is for non-commercial use. Every component and its licence is listed in THIRD-PARTY.md.
Removing it
sudo pacman -R omamesh
rm -rf ~/.local/share/omamesh # the engine (about 35 GB) and the list of models
Your models stay where they were made, beside their photos.
