Routing and ducking
Send tracks through a bus, add sends, and have music dip under a voice by itself.
Where it is
Arrange › Routing… · the Inspector · Sound › Duck under voices
What you can do
- Main output sends a track to Master, or to another track used as a bus, so several tracks can be set or processed together.
- A send is an extra copy of a track at its own level: Post-fader follows the track's volume and pan, Pre-fader ignores them. Up to eight sends a track.
- Trigger track is a sidechain source: one track's sound controls an effect on another, such as a compressor that turns music down under speech.
- Apply routing uses the routes; OmaAudio refuses connections that would feed a track back into itself.
- For music, Sound › Duck under voices lowers it while voice tracks play: How much and How quickly set the dip. The result is volume points you can see in Automation, kept up to date as the voices change.
