Automation
Volume, pan or any effect setting that changes over time, drawn as points or recorded as it plays.
Where it is
Arrange › Automation…
What you can do
- Choose the track and the setting: volume, pan, or a control of one of its effects.
- Double-click the graph to add a point; drag a point to move it; right-click to remove it.
- After selected point shapes the change to the next point: Linear, Hold, or Smooth.
- Turn the curve on to hear it; Undo restores each edit.
- Or record it: Write records your moves while it plays, Touch records while you hold a control and returns to the curve when you let go, Latch keeps the last value until playback stops. Read plays what's stored.
- Generate ducking… makes editable volume points that lower one track while others are heard.
