Properties
Sizes, dates, permissions, and the app that opens a file.
Where it is
Right-click, Properties · Ctrl+I · Alt+Return
What you can do
- Basic: the type, size, size on disk, location, dates, owner and the free space on the drive. For a folder or several items, what's inside and how much space it all takes.
- Permissions: read, write and execute for the owner, the group and everyone else. Nothing changes until you press Apply.
- Open With (files only): every app that can open this kind of file. Set as Default makes one the default; Open opens the file with it.
- With nothing selected, Properties describes the folder you're in.
- Alt+1, Alt+2 and Alt+3 jump between the tabs.
