Search
Find files by name or by what's inside them, filtered by date and type.
Where it is
Ctrl+F · the search button, top left · Ctrl+Shift+F
What you can do
- Ctrl+F searches the folder you're in and every folder inside it, by name. The results appear as you type.
- Contents, or Ctrl+Shift+F, searches inside files instead. It uses the localsearch index and works in folders on this computer.
- Filters narrows the results: When (today, the last week, the last year and more; by modified, created or last used) and What (folders, documents, pictures, music, videos, PDFs and more).
- Press Down to move from the search box into the results. Esc closes the search.
- Each tab keeps its own search. Preferences, Search in Subfolders, chooses where searches go into subfolders.
