Opening and importing
Bring in audio files, or a whole session exported from your video editor, picture and all.
Where it is
File › Open Audio… (Ctrl+O) · File › Import Audio as Track… (Ctrl+Shift+O) · File › Import Session (AAF/OMF)…
What you can do
- Open Audio… starts a new project from a file. Import Audio as Track… adds files to the project you have, each on its own track.
- Drag files onto the window. In an empty project the first file starts it and the rest become tracks.
- OmaAudio reads WAV, AIFF, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, Opus, MP3, W64, CAF, AAC, M4A and MXF. A file at another sample rate is converted as it comes in; the original isn't touched.
- From DaVinci Resolve, export a Pro Tools AAF and keep the audio beside it. Import Session (AAF/OMF)… brings in the tracks, clips, gaps, levels and fades. One Undo removes the import.
- The AAF's picture comes in as the project's reference video and plays in the Video tab, in time with the tracks.
- Projects save as .omaaudio folders holding their own copy of the audio and video. Older .omawave projects still open.
