Deactivating fonts
Hide a font from every app without deleting it, system fonts included, and bring it back whenever you like.
Where it is
Deactivate in the toolbar · Ctrl+D · the eye beside a style in the Info pane
What you can do
- Select a family and press Deactivate, or Ctrl+D. No app on the computer can use it until it is activated again; its files are not touched.
- System fonts can be deactivated too: a package's font is switched off for your account only.
- The crossed eye beside one style in the Info pane switches off just that face. That is how to settle a duplicate, or hide a weight you never use.
- Deactivated families stay in the list, struck through, and are gathered under Deactivated in the sidebar.
- Activate, or Ctrl+D again, brings a family back.
- Behind it is one fontconfig file OmaFont writes for you: ~/.config/fontconfig/conf.d/60-omafont-deactivated.conf.
