Finding a font
Narrow the list by where fonts come from, what they look like, the script they set, or a few letters of a name.
Where it is
The sidebar · the filter box in the toolbar · / to filter
What you can do
- Click a source in the sidebar to list only those families: Yours, System, Starred, Monospace, Recently Added, Deactivated or Duplicates.
- By design groups families from what their files say: Serif, Sans-serif, Handwriting, Ornamental, Symbolic, Monospace, Variable and Colour glyphs.
- Writing systems and Language list only the families that can set Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, German or Welsh, and so on.
- Press / or click the filter box and type part of a name. Escape clears it. Typing #display finds a tag.
- The chevron at the end of the filter box changes what it searches: Names, Designer or foundry, or Supports these characters, which lists only the families that have every character you type.
- A typical Arch install carries hundreds of Noto families, one for each writing system. OmaFont folds them away; the toolbar says how many are hidden and Ctrl+L shows them. Typing a filter always searches them too, and your own fonts never fold.
- View ▸ Sort by orders the list by name, date added, number of styles or foundry.
