The sidebar, the family list, the view in the middle, the Info pane and the status bar.
Where it is
Every OmaFont window
What you can do
- The sidebar on the left says where families come from: All Fonts, Yours, System, Starred, Monospace, Recently Added, then By design, writing systems, languages, your tags and your collections. Ctrl+B hides it.
- The family list shows each family set in its own typeface, Yours first, then System. Yours are the fonts in your own font folder, the ones you can remove; System fonts belong to packages.
- An M marks a monospace family, a star a starred one, a crossed eye a deactivated one, and a double square one with duplicate faces.
- The middle of the window is the view: a specimen of the selected family, or a grid, a list, its characters or a comparison.
- The Info pane on the right shows what the font's files say about themselves, your own tags and notes, and the actions for that family.
- The status bar counts the families shown, yours and the system's, and ends with the folder your fonts install into.
- Rest the pointer on any button to see what it does and its shortcut.
