Renaming
Rename one file, or a whole batch with a pattern.
Where it is
F2 · right-click, Rename…
What you can do
- F2 renames what's selected. The name is selected ready to type over; the extension is left out of the selection.
- Select several files and press F2 to rename them all at once.
- Rename using a template: mix your own text with the original name and a number (1, 2, 3 or 01, 02, 03 or 001, 002, 003), added with + Add. Choose the order the numbers follow.
- Find and replace text: change one piece of every name, extensions included.
- The preview shows every old and new name before anything changes, and names that would clash are marked in red.
- One Ctrl+Z puts every name back.
